Aleppo Codex

AKA the Crown of Aleppo

(dated 950 A.D)

Contains the complete Old Testament.

It is attributed to the Ben Asher family. The manuscript's concluding note credits Aaron ben Moses ben Asher as responsible for writing the Masoretic notes and pointing the text.

It was reportedly destroyed in anti-Jewish riots in 1947, but a majority actually survived. It will be used as the base for a new critical edition of the Hebrew Bible.
